About the project

Our client, a leading European retail and tourism company with over 15,000 stores and 2,400 travel agencies across the continent, is looking for an experienced Cloud Operations Professional specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join their team. 

This role is responsible for ensuring strong cloud governance, security, and oversight, as well as driving continuous improvement and innovation across their cloud infrastructure. This will involve working closely with the Cloud Center of Excellence and several cross-functional teams.
 

Job requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in cloud operations and management, especially with Google Cloud Platform;
  • In-depth understanding of cloud governance, security measures, and compliance standards;
  • Skilled in using automation tools and scripting languages;
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities;
  • Experience with financial operations (FinOps) and managing cloud billing;
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in handling incident management;
  • Proficiency in English.
     

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain IAM policies and practices to ensure secure and efficient access control within the GCP environment;
  • Assist the Security Operations Centre (SOC) by implementing and maintaining security protocols, monitoring systems and incident response strategies;
  • Perform regular audits and assessments to ensure that all cloud operations are compliant with relevant regulations and standards;
  • Improve system reliability and performance by creating and managing automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations;
  • Engage in continuous learning and development to keep abreast of the latest GCP technologies and best practices; facilitate training and knowledge sharing sessions for team members;
  • Collaborate with the Cloud Centre of Excellence for cloud strategy alignment, insight sharing and best practice implementation;
  • Facilitate and optimize financial operations related to GCP billing, ensuring cost-effective and transparent cloud use;
  • Administer incident management processes to ensure prompt identification, resolution, and documentation of incidents, maintaining operational integrity.
     

Extra skills

  • Certifications in Google Cloud Platform;
  • Background in Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) environments;
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks applicable to cloud operations.
